The elcor are a Citadel species native to the high-gravity world Dekuuna. They are massive creatures, standing on four muscular legs for increased stability. Elcor move slowly, an evolved response to an environment where a fall can be lethal. This has colored their psychology, making them deliberate and conservative.


Elcor are large elephant-like aliens that speak in a slow, monotone fashion. The elcor use scent and subtle body movements, rather than tone, to convey meaning and intent when conversing. The elcor found that when they encountered other races, these subtleties were lost on them; because of this, elcor choose to describe their emotions before making any statements.

Elcors evolved on Dekuuna, a large terrestrial world, with enormous gravitational pull; forcing them to become extremely deliberate with their movements (as any stumble, no matter how minor, would result in injury, if not death.) This physical necessity therefore resulted in a political, social and cultural philosophy that extolled the virtues of caution, deliberation and patience. The elcor's main political body, the Counts of Dekuuna, demonstrate this tendency in their political decision-making process; their millenia-old archives are constantly kept up-to-date and are constantly consulted by the Counts when making decisions to ensure that precedent is respected and all options are kept in consideration. As such, the Counts take a very long time in making decisions or enacting laws, sometimes taking decades to decide on relatively simple matters of state.

Though large and physically powerful creatures, they are rarely violent. However, if pressed into violent situations, their extremely thick hides make them nearly invulnerable to conventional weapons and their extraordinary strength allows them to carry various amounts of heavy weaponry and commensurate ammunition with ease.


Elcor are deliberate and conservative. Their slow speech pattern is not, however, an indication of slow thought processes or lack of intelligence as many assume.

Physical Traits

Elcor evolved on a high-gravity world, making them slow, but incredibly strong. Their large, heavy bodies are incapable of moving quickly, but they possess a rather imposing stature and immense strength, as well as thick, tough skin. They move using all four limbs to support and balance their massive bodies. Given their method of communication, they likely have highly attuned olfactory senses.

Elcor are not known to be biotic.

Unique Abilities

Thick Hide

Elcor gain +12 defense to resist fall damage (also against biotic damage).
This bonus is applied manually at the time of an appropriate roll.

Monotone Speech

Because of an elcor's deliberate speech and tendency to explain their emotions they suffer -6 to Knowledge: Intimidate and Perception: Persuasion skill rolls.

Heavy Weapons Only

The elcor use only heavy weapons. For every 1 point put in Heavy Weapons skill they get 2. (to a maximum of +6)
